As people join the common life of our community, we invite all people to consider the gifts and talents they have to strengthen and sustain our church family. There are many avenues for involvement in various ministry teams. Take a look and consider how you might give of our yourself to the ministries at Land of the Sky UCC. We hope that people will choose ministries that match their gifts with their passions.
The leadership team meets the 2nd Monday of each month to discuss the needs of the church, evaluate finances, and cultivate the future vision of the church. The Leadership Team consists of two co-facilitators and a variety of leadership liaisons connected to the ministries of the church. Our current team consists of Bob Carver, Bridget Day, Heather Dillashaw, Gerry Werhan (Treasurer), Bridget Hansel, Nicole Rule (Co-Facilitator), Sean Smith (Co-Faciliator). Future team members are chosen by the current team based on needed gifts and an aim for diversity of voices from across the community. Members are confirmed at the Fall Congregational through a Blessing of the Leadership.

Our hospitality team helps to make sure that our community has what its needs to offer an extravagant welcome to all. The team assists with the mug ministry, newcomers desserts, fellowship time, potlucks and special events. Service on this team is by expressed desire and personal invitation. If you have the gift of hospitality, let us know. If we see you have the gift of hospitality, don’t be surprise if we ask you if you would like to serve.

The Justice Team help our community live fully into our vision to Live Justly. The team gathers on a quarterly basis to discuss Justice Projects and make decisions about where our mission and outreach dollars go. All are welcome to join in this important work of the church and in our community.
Hope to Home Team:
Our Hope to Home Ministry team accompanies an individual or family in the first year of their transition from homelessness to housing. This team of 7-10 individuals meets monthly, one-on-one with our partner. Each month we also attend either a team meeting with a Homeward Bound staff person or a team gathering with our partner. This team also assists in raising $1800 to support the work of the Hope to Home program, through Homeward Bound. All team members must attend a mandatory training.
Prison Ministry Team:
Our Prison Ministry takes place at the local women’s prison (minimum security). All volunteers must attend a mandatory orientation at the prison. We serve the prison in a variety of ways: Sunday evening worship services, book groups, Read Me a Story program, Holiday parties, and a retreat for incarcerated mothers and their teens.
